Ah Jersey City. Besides being one of the greatest places to live, it’s amazing restaurants, museums, parks, and jaw dropping views of New York City make it one of the best places to hold an event (full disclosure: I had my civil ceremony on the waterfront because how could you not with that view). The venues below each have their own style and personality, read on to find which one matches you.

502 Washington Blvd
Jersey City, 07310
(201) 798-1798

Style: Industrial Chic, Rustic Chic

Since opening in March 2014, Battello has quickly become a staple in Downtown Jersey City. The fresh seafood, cocktails, cozy ambiance, and stunning views of New York City and surrounding yacht club make it one of our favorite venues in JC. Anthony Carrino (one half of HGTV’s Kitchen Cousins) designed the space to resemble a classic boathouse, blending industrial and rustic elements. The main dining room has sliding glass doors, perfect for ceremonies or cocktail hour in warmer months.

Ellis Island/Statue of Liberty

Liberty Island
New York, NY 10004
(212) 344-0996

Style: Off-beat, Historic

While Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty are both technically federal property, these venues are so impressive they had to make it on our list. Hosting an event at one of the nation’s finest monuments is a once in a lifetime experience that your guests will never forget. After the park closes (between 5-6 pm) you and your guests are transported via ferry service from Liberty State Park or Battery Park to the islands. With a ceremony at sunset and a spectacular fireworks display after dinner your celebration would be one for the ages.
